  1. I’ve had the Prime for a couple of years now ( jacked up the price from $79 to $99 though ). Have often taken advantage of the 2 shipping and the wife and I are catching up on a lot of video content, especially now that HBO has entered into a deal with Amazon. So I’m totally liking it, Being that tied in to Amazon though makes me think for a minute…

  2. We have had it for a couple of years. Well worth it for shipping. Also great if you own a kindle for e books. However I do feel bad for traditional book stores as it is putting many of them out of business. I try to still support them as well, but I am sure it is hurting many of them As well as authors.

  3. We’ve had Prime for years. Two day shipping is great. There is a lot more video content now, but we still have Hulu and Netflix for current shows. We find most of the TV content is older ( Sopranos, Wire, etc.) which is fine for catching up but not great for watching what’s on now. I think the new $99 price is a bit steep, although they did hold at $79 for many years. Check it for a year, cancel if you don’t feel you’re getting your money’s worth. We buy everything from Clif bars and almonds to books, toys and kitchen stuff so well worth it for us!

  4. I’ve had it since it was introduced and use all the time from reading books to watching movies and saving a ton of time and gas having every thing shipped. Plus Amazon is great to work with …if a problem they will fix, replace, or otherwise do you right. What have you been waiting for….your mother drop you on your head as a baby ?

  5. I can never justify Prime for our needs. The shipping is nice, but I can usually bundle purchases to keep using free shipping without too much effort. Same goes during xmas shopping… I guess we’re just good planners that way and rarely ever need to “rush” anything. As for music and video, we use Spotify and Netflix which both have MUCH larger selections than Prime. We’ve tried switching to Prime to replace either or both of these, but they never have enough selection for our desires. Bottom line, for us, Prime’s added services are nice, but seem more “gimmicky” – I like Amazon overall, but it’s just not as good other, dedicated services for us. Maybe things have improved over the past year, but that was our assessment last year.
