  1. Interesting that romance and masculinity are seen as conflicting. Now perhaps if he had thrown her in the ocean then he would be truly “masculine,” but then he probably wouldn’t be getting married would he? He would be lonely and drinking with some fonzy-type guy friends. 🙂

      1. I think this is the true definition of masculinity! I remember when I was like ten and my dad let me put my entire foofy barrette collection in what was left of his hair and wasn’t bothered by us photographing him. We like our men with a softer side and the confidence and independence to not care what the buddies think! 🙂

However, I will grant you that the buoy one is odd and rather phallic. Not sure where they were going with that one…

        1. Oh, I agree about the goofy ones taken by family .members being funny and all. That is not what you’re seeing in those pics Beth. Holding the buoy, seriously? At some point the guys gotta say, you know what hun?

Say what you will, but I know my boys would bust my balls mercilessly and I’d expect nothing less of them.

        2. *LOL* Alright, but you could take it! You guys do realize that these people are real people and the photographer as well… It was their wedding! Romance supersedes and bring on the foofoo and the casual chic. Whatever! Congrats to the happy couple!

  2. I never know what I’ll find when I open up my morning GMG each day. You all are cracking me up out there. My biggest problem with this guy….. OK, my second biggest problem… or maybe the third, is that he’s dressed like a total slob. Maybe his “look” is a masculine point/counter point sort of thing. Whatever, these photos are certainly peculiar. I’ll have to give some thought to the buoys.

  3. As a former wedding photographer, I’d take complete coverage photos of Bride and Groom in various situations. If they didn’t like something I shot, they just wouldn’t put it into their album. The lobster buoy photo is probably not included in their album (but maybe it was the couple’s idea). I think the funny photo promoted the photographer. A wedding I shot in Cambridge featured a brigade of firemen charging into the reception hall in full fire gear with axes. We evacuated the building temporarily, and this was their favorite picture! Who knew?
