I generally don’t bring the camera out for dinner with the Mrs which means places like the Duck don’t get pictures of the food in our pages.
Let me just say that there is a reason it’s the number one Zagat rated restaurant in the northeast.
They hit all the points of excellent service, fantastic food, and reasonable prices (yes you read that right) reasonable prices. I think many times people assume they are going to be pricey but it general it isn’t any more expensive than going to any other fine restaurant in G-town.

I would agree with the reasonable. All the entrees have two prices, half and whole serving. The half leaves room for the appetizer and maybe even a dessert.

ps. I think they only do the half/whole pricing through the winter but not sure. A reason to go now. They make a wicked martini.

They also have been getting positive press in the trade for offereing second glasses of wine by the 1/2 pour. Do they still do that? It shows thoughtful atten$ion to the customer.
Duckworth’s is another example of great talent from the city choosing to locate in Gloucester.

I love the 1/2 portions, & their Lobster Risotto is amazing!

We were a party of four. Tonight’s dinner: mushroom soup & roasted cauliflower soup, shrimp, caesar salad, quail, lobster risotto & pork tenderloin au poivre. Dessert: banana cake -scrumptious!, bread pudding & carrot cake, delicious. Impe,cable service. Worth the price. We’ll be back.
