Joe Popcorn From Virginia McKinnon

Hi Joey, I was looking through some old pictures and came across this picture of Joe Popcorn at St. Peter’s Fiesta in 1947.  With Joe is my brother, Paul Frontiero, who worked for Joe that summer. We lived at 14 Gould Court and Joe and his family at 16 Gould Court. Later Joe made his famous lemonade slush. I have so many memories of Gould Court. This story is of early times, before the Ciaramitaro’s moved next door. Daily I look forward to your blog. Love, Virginia (Frontiero) McKinnon

  3. My wife Cathy and I lived at 14 Gould court for 2 years 1985 to 1987 before moving to NH FOR 19 Years.
One night about 3am my 1st son Paul’s remote controlled car was circling the kitchen table by itself. I checked the car and all the switches were turned off. My Dad said it must be Uncle Mike. because he loved his cars so much. 🙂

    1. I’m glad you remember that all the kids called my grandfather Uncle Mike. When he came back from fishing he would always put on a three piece suit and his fedora and fill his coat pocket with candy for all the kids in the neighborhood. He was the best man I ever knew.

  4. Joe Popcorn had the best lemon slush in town. The best slush ever! My mom would bring our own little cups to Niles Beach and Joe would sell us nickle servings. Its still the best slush I have ever had. Lots of good memories too…

  5. If I have the right person Joseph was married to Rosalie Ciaramitaro, and I would love some feedback on this information. My mother is Carloe Ciaramitaro and I think that is my mothers aunt or mine.
