I am harvesting pears from the family homestead tree. I would like to give you a bag for your sister to come up with a baked pear or something pear recipe.

Roasted Pear and Fig Compote with Crumbled Blue Cheese Crostini
Ingredients
5 cups diced pears (cores & stems removed)
9 fresh figs; diced
4 tablespoons salted butter
1/2 cup of granulated sugar
1/2 cup Masala wine
2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1/2 vanilla bean ; split down middle
2 teaspoons lemon zest
1 French baguette bread
1/4 cup Olive oil
1 cup crumbled blue cheese
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 freshly ground pepper
1/2 cup Local honey
Step-by-Step
1 combine butter and marsala wine in large skillet; over high heat
2 add granulated sugar,brown sugar cinnamon and allspice; mix well; cook until butter and sugar melt and dissolve
3 add diced pears and fig to pan; toss well
4 add split the vanilla bean and lemon zest
5 Cook 10 minutes over high heat; stirring often
6 carefully transfer hot mixture to ovenproof casserole dish
7 bake in preheated 425° oven for one hour or until pears are fork tender
8 sliced French baguette bread on diagonal ¼-½ inch thick slices
9 drizzle with olive oil; season with salt and pepper; toast under broigolden
11 fix one heaping tablespoon warm Roasted Pear & Fig Compote on each toasted bread slice
12 top with crumbled Blue Cheese; drizzle with honey; serve
