Appreciate the Silence, Cherish the Sounds

When I go to bed, I don't count sheep. I count the seconds until I hear a human-made sound. It takes a while, but I'm usually asleep quickly. That's my silence. At dawn, the sparrows in our hedge awaken and start tweeting. Then our parakeets respond in their own bird language. These are the sounds I cherish in the morning.

  1. Parakeets are more company than most people realize. Love their chattering. I had two the same colors as yours years ago named Mencius and Appias Claudias (must have been taking some ancient history course at the time). Try writing when they are loose. They love to perch on the end of the pencil.

  2. What a way to start the day with the sparrows and your parakeets join into the new day singing to you – Certain things catch your eye, But pursue only those that capture your heart. ~ An old Indian saying. Thanks Fred needed this 🙂
