January is a perfect month to reorganize the house after the holiday season. Do you or someone you know keep a supply of plastic grocery bags on hand to reuse at a later date? Are they stuffed in a draw, closet or fabric bag dispenser hanging from a doorknob, annoyingly in the way every time you open or close the door?
Thought I’d share a helpful tip for storing used “plastic grocery bags” that I adopted from the internet several years ago. It is clean, convenient, and compact. Perfect for any home, office or car!
Supplies Needed
1 empty plastic wipes container
several plastic grocery bag
Step-by-Step
1 collect plastic bags after shopping
2 remove lid top from wipes container
3 crumble and stuff each plastic bag into container; feed end of last bag through lid top opening; secure lid top back onto container
4 store container in convenient location; use and restock bags as needed

Great Idea and well done!! You get an A from the landfill and the willdlife for your conservation and use efforts, I have the canvas bags also but don’t always have hem readily avalable for use..:-)

Give me a break (lots for !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL) Sista Felicia exceeds awesomeness and so are the common sense ideas and recipes she shares with us. I live in Montgomery County, MD where they effectively have outlawed all store provided shopping bags by charging a 5 cent “bag tax” at the register — regardless if they’re paper or plastic. “Oh, but it’s a water quality initiative…” –Ayuh… (not). The politically correct dweebs here have entered into a dirty partnership with the merchants where the merchant actually gets 20% of the tax on each bag provided, or flat out saves the cost of giving their customers a lousy bag to carry their purchase home. Count your blessings every time you get a bag at Market Basket, Gloucester… it won’t be long before this kind of liberal progressive thinking infects your paradise, too.

another hint – from Michigan. Our newspaper (Holland Sentinel) comes in a small bag, and I reuse these for walking my dog. I stuff them into an empty Kleenex box and just pull out one at a time.
