I don’t know how he does it without claws. I guess cats are just quicker than rats. Either that or he’s just relentlessly going for the kills all day long and every once in a while gets lucky.
Guess we may as well poll it.

I’m not a veteranarian but that sure looks like a mouse. There was a big study published this year about what and how many things that cats kill. They put cameras on the cat collars. They kill very few rats.
I lived in the country with what seemed like a thousand mice coming into the house when the weather grew cold — the cats could barely keep up. That is definitely a mouse, and Oscar’s gonna win just about every time, thank goodness.
I have had cats all my life (I’m old) and this is definitely a mouse! I have seen many on my back porch! You go Oscar! Keep those mice out of the house!
Definitely a mouse ! my cat Dinou is on the war path and got one yesterday . Did not eat it, just played with, I think the mouse died of a heart attack. or maybe not, Dinou is fully armed with all his claws. .That was a foolish mouse.!

Y’all really don’t think I know the difference between a rat and a field mouse? can a guy get a little creative with a title? 🙂
Hamsters, mice, rats- all rats to me.
When Beannie had her hamster I referred to it as a rat as well, drove her up a wall, lol.

That’s a poor little tiny cute mouse. Poor thing. Not a rat. If you hadn’t thrown your back out, you’d be able to bend over for a better look.
