It was moving so fast through the reeds and then dove under, so I couldn’t get a great shot of it. It could have been a beaver, or it could be the Niles Pond variety of the Loch Ness monster.

I never would have thought of a muskrat, never having seen one before, but that is just what it could have been. Thanks.

Muskrats are great for controlling cattails. A trapper asked to trap my pond and told me that. He was right ! Still had muskrats , but very few cattails. NO TRAPPING. balance. Fun to watch em, just do not have a damn above flood zone.

There’s a massive snapping turtle that lives there, and if you ever caught a glimpse of it, ‘monster’ would be the word that comes to mind… You have been warned!

Monster? Too funny. The color of the water is gorgeous, E.J.! Great shot.
I can’t wait for summertime; it’s been a long, cold winter.

Yes Leslie, it has been a long cold winter, and probably more so where you are.
