I’ve noticed that the old Robinson’s name is starting to show up from behind the current Beacon Marine. Many of the last Essex vessels and Robinson’s vessels from Ipswich were “fitted out” for fishing from this location.
I worked for the Alexander’s in the early 90’s and there is a good chance that I was the last person to do any painting on that side of the building. I know I spent a lot of time working off a ladder at low tide replacing some of those shingles!
