The SailBot 2013 International Robotic Sailing Regatta is a robotic sailing competition historically held in North America in which teams of university and college students compete. This year’s event takes place in Gloucester harbor! The goal is to create an unmanned sailboat that navigates through a variety of challenges with limited, if any, human control. Students are able to use this friendly competition between schools to apply their engineering knowledge in a multi-disciplinary task that requires mechanical, electrical, and software skill to deal with this highly variable environment. Teams are headquartered at Maritime Gloucester and races will occur off Pavillion Beach in the outer harbor. Project presentations will take place at Endicott College’s Gloucester campus.

Good Morning Joey,
Great – this will be fun. Attached is a little info about me, and a painting I did of a turnabout (this painting was donated to the Sawyer Free Library for their annual art auction), info below about it and its history. EJ-
Did you know
That the National 10 class was originally known as the Turnabout class, built in 1953 by Harold R.Turner as a small wooden single or double handed dinghy class at the Parker River Marine. The boats were initially built as a junior training boat, although adults enjoy the boats as well. The class has grown mainly in the New England and Northeastern regions of the U.S. Fleets are located in Northern Lake George, New York, Boston, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine and New Jersey. This turnabout, located in Annisquam on Lobster Cove, is said to be the first turnabout ever built.
I went by the Art Auction display at the library this morning and leafed through the bid book. there were many gorgeous paintings without any bids.
My suggestion is for you to go to that auction tomorrow night (Wednesday) for the live auction and you might just walk away with a great piece for very little dough.

This sailboat had broken loose from it’s moring in Rockport the night before last. I’m surprised it landed where it is without any visible damage. It isn’t tied to the stone pier, it just happens to look that way in this picture.
Anyone that used to pack fish in the 70s knows what the term Mug-Up means.
It is when the boss man hollers MUGGG UPPPP!!!! and all the workers get their coffee break and a chance to get off their feet for 15 minutes of so mid morning or afternoon.
