I can’t begin to thank Capt Pete Mondello enough for his recommendation for the cryovaced (spelling?) frozen 8 oz portions of tuna at Market Basket for $6.50 per lb. Also available at Stop and Shop. Get the little container of real wasabi too.
So you get a portion, leave it out for a couple hours to thaw, cut open the package carve off a slice, spread on a little wasabi and drizzle soy sauce. I stuffed myself with about 6.5 ounces. Straight lean protein. Delicious. No Brainer city.
A lot has changed in the 4 years since that day except how hard Pete works to provide for his family- THAT IS A CONSTANT.
One of the best guys you’d every want to have the pleasure of knowing as a friend OR a business acquaintance.
Pete Mondello is the kind of guy everyone should be lucky enough to have in their circle of friends.

The boat had a little over a foot of snow aboard after the snow storm. There’s a whole set of precautions that commercial fishermen have to take to keep their boats going through the extreme cold temperatures. Frozen coolant lines, frozen lobster hoses, snow engines freezing up.
It’s always best to have a block heater which keeps the engine warm and the fuel from gelling up. We plug our truck in and it starts up (usually) pretty easily but without that block heater forgettabout it!

Notie that Peter has a float attached to his lobster gauge? I wonder how many get lost overboard without the float.
Carapace length measured from rear of eye socket parallel to the center line of the bodyshell to the rear of the bodyshell. All lobsters measuring less than the minimum legal carapace length must be returned to the waters from which taken. All lobsters must be measured immediately.
Here we see Pete cozied up to the wood stove while Katherine applies another coat to the inside of the Handline Dory which will be raffled off to support the International Dory Races.
