Vote For Your Favorite Local Charity To Get Money Raised By Celebrate Gloucester
Celebrate Gloucester Sponsored by National Grid Raises $15,000 for Local Charities
Thanks to support from National Grid, the City of Gloucester and many sponsors and volunteers, Celebrate Gloucester raised $15,000.00 for charity, which was donated to The Gloucester Fund today.
“We all saw how music brought people down to the property to party at the end of Summer,” said Gloucester Fund Treasurer, Ringo Tarr. “It’s a great use of the property. Letting the public decide how to spend the money we raised helps get people involved in making our City a better place to live.”
The Gloucester Fund will award grants to the top 3 vote-getters among the 24 charities who have been nominated since August 1. People can go to CelebrateGloucester.com to vote for their favorite charity through September 30th. Each of the three winners will receive $5,000.00.
“We could not have raised this money without help from our sponsors led by National Grid,” said Celebrate Gloucester producer, Peter Van Ness. “Celebrate Gloucester was truly a community event featuring local music, local sponsors, local food and a mostly local audience. I encourage everyone to support our sponsors. You can see who they are when you go to CelebrateGlocuester.com to vote for your favorite charity.”
Celebrate Gloucester will be releasing a feature length concert DVD sometime in October. A portion of the DVD sales will also be donated to the three winning charities.
Net proceeds will be donated to The Gloucester Fund. The Gloucester Fund will award grants to charities nominated on this website. Voting ends September 30th. The Gloucester Fund will divide the proceeds equally among the top 3 vote-getters.
