Here’s the video we debuted Friday night at the Dog Bar. Please enjoy, share, and repeat! (click the gear tap to get HD)
This video was a true run-and-gun production. We had about 30 minutes to film the EMPIRE scenes, and about 1 hr for the DOG BAR scenes. The only crew on the shoot was me, and it was all hand held with on rigs, jibs, or gadgets. Paul, aka Pocket Tanya, is an amazing self-producing artist from Gloucester. He has endless energy while performing live, and develops a true connection with his audience at every performance. Paul writes, sings, raps, and produces some amazing tracks. With an amazing mix of 80’s, funk, pop, and hip hop, he somehow upholds all of those styles while creating his sound he calls “Junkie Pop.” If you ever get the chance, get out and support local artists like Pocket Tanya!
A very special thank you to Jeff Amero for sharing his awesome party location!
Now that we have re-established the GMG Mug Up tradition on Saturday mornings at 9:30 on Madfish Wharf (so our fearless leader Joey can be there!), it is time for one of our famous and fun GMG Food Competitions. Over the years, we have had many different types food competitions, and we want to come up with something that the awesome cooks / bakers out there in GMG land will clamor to be a part of. Joey wants it to be a cupcake competition (he is going to be one of the judges with his girls as assistants, along with James Eves and Richard Rosenfeld). Cupcakes are great, but we wanted to let those of you who would like to enter and have the chance of winning a coveted GMG food competition winner ribbon, and go down in annals of GMG history as the best at whatever it is you make really well, tell us what you would like the competition to be.
Please reply by commenting on this post if you are interested in being a contender, and what food you would like the competition to be. Majority will rule. There is no real prep area, so it has to be something you can bring in prepared and ready to go to the judges (with a little extra for Mug Up attendees to try). Don’t include a beverage. If Bob Ryan is game to sponsor another Bloody Mary or other beverage competition made with a Ryan & Wood Distilleries spirit, we’ll do that later in the season.
Madfish Wharf is hopping this summer. Saturday morning 9:30am come for GMG Mug Up and food competition at YUPO Gallery / Khan Studio & the GMG Gallery. Come hang with your favorite GMG peeps, fobs and Rocky Neck artists and neighbors on beautiful Madfish Wharf. Saturday, August 23rd will be our first GMG Food Competition of the season. Let’s get some rockin GMG peep/fob summer fun going while we still can.
Terrible Time Aboard The Thomas Lannon For The Paul Giacalone / Ryan and Wood / GMG Cigar and Rum Sail
It was just terrible. Hurricane force winds, torrential downpours, lost two or three people overboard, the boat was a filthy mess, the most rude obnoxious people you’d ever wanna meet.
A total disaster evidenced by the pictures.
Better pictures on the way from Kim Smith (I was too busy trying to keep people from abandoning ship to take photos)
Look at the sheer misery on these faces-
That James Eves, he doesn’t know how to have a good time does he?
In all seriousness I can’t extend enough thanks to Tom,Kay and Heath Ellis and their crew as well as Bobby and Doug Ryan from Ryan and Wood our local distillery, and Paul Giacalone for providing excellent excellent smokes.
Check out Ryan and Wood for a tour of their facility, it is amazing http://www.ryanandwood.com/
and if you haven’t been on a sail aboard the Lannon (the most beautiful boat in Gloucester Harbor by a mile) you really need to, especially if you have guests in from out of town. It is my number one must do thing I tell people when they ask me what they need to do while in town. You get to see Gloucester Harbor in all it’s glory on the most beautiful boat in the harbor with the friendliest crew in the harbor. Total no brainer city easy recommendation for the win.
This is my new all time favorite Homie Represents! photos bumping off Doug Brendel’s KGB Headquarters Represent and Great Wall of China. Thanks Liz and thanks Frank Ciolino and Shewsberry for making the stickas for us!
Homie is ready for USA Ghana

I’m just sayin…
It’s a great way for the GMG FOBs to communicate.
While in New York recently I checked out a fruit and vegetable cart at 93rd and 2cnd. Got to speak with a few other people at the cart too. Overall pretty grumpy crowd of former football and baseball fans… Even though they decided I was not to be liked, I was allowed to represent GMG!

I owe the idea to FOB Linda Colman who has been begging for years relentlessly for us to bring out a feminine cut V Neck super soft T Shirt.
After months of research and trying many many brands we’ve got it narrowed down and we’re going to offer them in V as well as scoop neck styles- both feminine cut, both crazyyyy soft- like you wanna wear it to bed but then never take it off soft. Like I guarantee it’s gonna be your favorite t shirt soft.
GMG Logo over the left boob.
The scoop neck ones fit true to size but the V Neck ones you need to order a size up (Felicia describes it best in the video)
James Eves from Cape Ann Giclee video who youo should be following on twitter here- @eves3
Alicia DeWolfe modeling The Scoop Neck
Sista Felicia and Amandacakes modeling the V-Neck
I just need help deciding the colors
I’m definitely ordering Black and the Dark Gray. But I just need help determining the third color. Once we narrow down the colors to offer I’ll put them on the All Things Gloucester Site for sale- http://gmg.storenvy.com/
I’m taking specific color size combinations in the Dry Fit shirts through Thursday and then whatever the orders are will be what I order from the distributor for the first printing. After that there won’t be any guarantees for stock in certain color/size combinations. it’ll be what is listed on the site for availability is what there will be after that.
The white has been a popular color.
So we’ll poll it to see what you guys think. (Linda Colman gets five votes based on how many times she begged me to carry these)
GMG Stonewashed caps are in!!! Let Me Know If You Would Like To Pick Them Up.
You can come down the dock and pick yours up any day from 5AM-8:45AM or 10AM-12:00PM at our lobster dock.

Captain Joe and Sons, 95 East Main Street, Gloucester MA
Also I’m placing orders for specific sizes of the new GMG Dry Fit Shirts short and long sleeve, Navy, White or Black.
If you would like to be assured that one in your size and preferred color is available for that first printing you’ll need to order by Thursday.
To pre order GMG Dry-Fit shirts for first week of August Delivery-
