Who is Sean Nolan? This question has been asked on more than one occasion as of late and it deserves an honest and accurate answer. Sean is first and foremost a son of this community; he is like many others, a concerned and caring part of Ward 5. Sean’s past experience as a member of The Magnolia Lions and as a Board Member of the Magnolia Library has kept him in touch with a variety of friends and neighbors and allowed him to learn what it is that makes all of Ward 5 so special. His involvement and membership in organizations such as The Freemasons and The Shriners Hospital has shown him the importance of putting others first, that there is a greater good in charity and service.
Who is Sean Nolan? He is local business owner whom many trust with the safety of themselves and their family. Sean, alongside his wife Stacey, has owned and operated Extreme Truck and Auto for more than a decade and continues to treat the people who come to him as family.
Who is Sean Nolan? Sean is a new set of eyes and willing set of ears; he is a part of this community in every way and needs only one opportunity to prove to those who don’t already know him, just how capable and eager he is to do whatever it takes to keep Ward 5 the wonderful place it has always been.

I only wish we had before photos but trust me when I say the weeds were waste high!
Thank you to Harbor Walk Friend and Volunteer Amy Kerr, who contacted Sean Nolan of Extreme Truck and Auto Repair, who got in touch with Andrew Butler of Leatherneck Landscaping. Sean, Andrew, and a crew member mowed, weed whacked and raked, despite the extreme heat and humidity. They did this on a volunteer basis, absolutely free of charge. Andrew and Sean plan to stop by several times a month to lend a hand and I just can’t tell you how grateful we are for the help.
Amy also reports that Sean and Andrew help greatly with many community clean ups around town.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, and ninety nine thank yous more, to Lynn Bird, Amy Kerr, Andrew Butler, and Sean Nolan for your tremendous help with the HarborWalk.

I’d like to take this opportunity to publicly thank the Curtis Family…Sean, Erin, Lydia, Brityn, and baby Henry for the excellent public service announcement they are kind enough to bestow upon the town of Rockport during the holiday season.
While, ahem ahem, it was a bit later than usual this year…it did not disappoint once finally arriving. Contrary to disappointing, actually, it is new and improved and really quite fantastic!
You see, the Curtis family has been helping to spread the holiday joy in the children of Rockport….and pure panic in the hearts of the grown-ups…for the past several years.
Formally, a giant snowman helped to count down the days, hours, minutes…and even seconds…until Christmas. After taking an unfortunate tumble, the large cold one was placed on the DL (that’s the disabled list). And, yes, I’m talking to you….the one who thought the World Series Trophy on our Christmas Card several years ago was a menorah. (see below)
At any rate, with Frosty down and out, an even better (in my opinion) countdown clock has taken his place! My boys get such joy out of seeing it each afternoon on the way home from school/work! It is pretty awesome…even if it does cause me some major anxiety.

“Joe Orlando still wakes up in the night, when the wind is whistling, and wonders if he should go down to the Gloucester House and make sure the Padre Pio’s lines are secure.
There still are days when the longtime Gloucester fisherman, as if lured by something invisible and irresistible, finds himself heading toward the dock to check on his boat.
“I say to myself, ‘What am I doing’?” Orlando said.
He is doing what he’s done for the past 30 years, what he’s done since he bought the 65-foot steel fishing boat in 1983 in partnership with his sister Angela Sanfilippo and her husband John.
There’s only problem: Orlando no longer owns the Padre Pio.”

Sean Hurley, local artist at work in his studio at Beacon Marine Basin, just one of many artists’ beehives located throughout Gloucester, opens up his studio to Good Morning Gloucester.
Watch while Sean runs the first step in printing a large-sized copper plate etching: inking the etched copper plate.
The print Sean has created is far larger than 11″x17″.
And, attention, Gloucester and Rockport gallery owners! Sean has representation in New York, but none on Cape Ann!
