  1. I would love to know ever since you showed us on Sunday. I think muskrats and possibly opossums create that dragging tail depression. Where did you see the tracks, and about how big were the footprints, just roughly.

  2. How big were the prints? It’s hard to tell from the photo. It could be a possum… there seems to be a “tailtrack” in some of the photos

  3. Hey Nic,
    I think these are from a happy dog carrying a stick from the woods that s/he just won’t let go. You know the type 🙂
    It seems to be dog prints from the nail prints and they are spaced just as a dog would walk at with a healthy gait, dragging a beloved stick that would drop and rise with her/her happy stride.
    Them’s my two-cents.

  4. I’ve read that coyotes place the back foot into the impression the front foot made (there’s a term I can’t remember). One with a long tail? Hard to tell how big the tracks are. Here’s pic, if it shows (or google):
