  • I believe the little “salty dog” is a Cairn Terrier – that has had its body hair cut very short – I have one with that adorable black face and paws but the body hair is shaggy and longer

    • Thank you Nancy. Isn’t he/she adorable? So alert and interested in all that was going on around him. My grandmother had Cairn Terriers (with the shaggy hair cut). From a distance, he looked like he was wearing a little coat.

  • If I am not mistaken, that particular Cairn Terrier is the (in)famous “Billy”, originally owned and trained(sort of) by Joe Garland. After Joe passed, Billy became the happy salty dog at Cape Ann Marine. He still visits the old neighborhood from time to time, although he doesn’t seem to “escape” nearly as often as he used to. I guess Drew and company keep a good eye on him. He’s a true character!
