HELP SAVE THE FIREWORKS!
WITHOUT AN INFUSION OF DONATIONS MADE BY FRIDAY AT MIDNIGHT, the Schooner Festival/Labor Day weekend fireworks will be cancelled. Gail McCarthy, senior staff writer for the Gloucester Times, reports that Barry Pett, who heads the Gloucester Fund and has organized Gloucester’s fireworks shows for the past 25 years, shares that there is only $4,000.00 in the kitty when approximately $12,500.00 is needed. Insurance costs alone are $1,000.
I think we can do this! I just made my donation on the Gloucester Fund’s website FIREWORKS page here. You can donate with all the usual credit cards as well as through PayPal. Or send a check to the following address with the memo “Fireworks”
