To the people who begrudge EJ From Pimping Her Book Here…

Please unsubscribe.

I’ve read your nasty comments.  Her Kickstarter has something like 11 more days for her to potentially be able to get her book financed.

If you can’t see how much she gives back to the community by posting artists openings, volunteering for the Rocky Neck Art Colony, hosting  Mug-Ups, ect, ect, ect then you’re just not paying enough attention.

She hits her daily time slot here on GMG 99 out of a 100 days and 95% of the posts she composes are to help promote other community organizations or bring some interesting bit of information to our readership that they might not already have known.

So if you are not interested in the Kickstarter campaign for her new book and simply can’t bring yourself to scroll past her post during the next 10 days of her Kickstarter Campaign without writing a nasty comment then lets just do everyone a favor and please unsubscribe yourself.

For all the labor of love energy we put into this thing called GMG we don’t need your negative energy mucking up the works.

Unbelievable.

This goes for Kim Smith’s movie night promotions, Felicia’s cookbooks and anything else that our contributors who strive to bring you great stuff every single day occasionally will pimp here on these pages.   335 posts a year trying to help others throughout the community, 30 posts trying to get her book financed and some people are that ignorant that they have to spew vitriol because they begrudge her of promoting her art.

Again, Unbelievable.

  1. For every negative poster, there are countless readers who are glad to see the creations of Glosta folks. There are always those that like to rain on parades. They are to be pitied. Thank you every artist for sharing your creations! And thanks for this reminder. I have been meaning to contribute to EJ’s Kickstarter campaign.

  2. Very well said, Joey. I am still amazed at how selfish and ignorant some people can be. Last I checked no one was being forced to read this blog. I read it because I continue to be amazed by this community we call Cape Ann – its people and their incredible talents including books, art, movies, gardens, etc. – its wonderful landscape and topography – and of course the light!! Thanks for making this possible and as I’ve said before – ignore the Nat-Sayers and keep up the great work!

  3. The beauty of the blog is the variety of material here. I have learned about quarry dance performances, new artists, places to eat and seen a deer fart. I’ve discovered the water shuttle, The Cave and copied and pasted a link for an entry of a burly, young fisherman flexing with the subject line “Why Doesn’t This Happen at my Job”? Is every post of interest to me? No, but I don’t have to read it. I check this blog daily and am amazed by the love and devotion of all the contributors. Good luck, EJ. You have a vivid imagination and I hope you succeed

  4. I check this blog on a daily basis and have been reading it for several years. I have seen posts about amazing artists and seen a video of a deer farting. I have discovered a ton of places to eat, the water shuttle (now a season pass holder I love it so much), The Cave, now favorite stores and learned a lot about the fishing industry. Not too long ago I sent a link to the blog to several female friends of a young fisherman grinning and flexing for the camera with the subject line “Why Can’t This Be My Work Space”? The content varies and of course not every post is going to be of interest to everyone. But, it’s a labor of love and devotion and it’s a great thing. Tomorrow I plan on going to check out the Phyllis A and then go to the quarry dance (if whether permits). Where did I learn about these things? On this blog. So, you don’t like something, scroll past and keep a civil tongue in your head. Or civil fingers on the keyboard.

  5. Totally Agree Joey! No need to stay on if it displeases you. I am so grateful for this blog and all the contributors. Good Luck EJ. Hope you make all that you need.

  6. 100% agree!! I just contributed to EJ’s campaign, it’s the least I could do considering all she has done for me and everyone. I value her contributions and plus I think the book and the idea behind it is really cool. But even if I didn’t, I would support her and all GMG contributors, you all work tirelessly to create this amazing thing that is a free public service. Just keep on keeping on, most of us love all of what you and everyone on here does!!

    1. What….maybe when you get out there and spend your limited free time between lobstering, raising children, and contributing to the community….you would see whether you agree or not the importance of the art and talent people have to offer….I too could swear like a trooper over things I don’t agree with but then that would only mirror my ignorance…thanks for sharing your ignorance with us….jerk!

  8. I have often said to Melissa something along the lines of “you could write a story about a homeless puppy saving a bunch of nuns lives and SOMEONE would have something negative to say”. You just need to keep remembering that the majority appreciate these things.

  9. Well, I just came across this post, to my great surprise. Joey thank you for standing up for me and my Kickstarter project, which I know you understand the significance of. No matter what good any of us do in life, there will always be people who will fight against it. When it comes to a project like this, which was inspired and sent through me by the Universe, I have no choice but to pursue it. Its coming into being has brought such amazing lessons and realizations to me, and I know it is meant to do the same for others. Throughout the history of mankind, those who have followed the leading of their intuition, or been given inspired words to pass on to others, have always done so at the risk of being ridiculed or worse (Jesus and his apostles/disciples were crucified, fed to lions, had their heads cut off, etc.). In all instances, people who respond negatively to anything, do so out of fear. Getting angry or upset with them only attempts to fight fear with fear, which can never work. I can only respond with love, and hope that one day they will say “I See Moolongz” or whatever their belief systems allows them to say in recognition and acknowledgement that we are all one, connected by the same energy source, and that life is amazing if we choose to allow it to be.

Capt Joe – EJ Keep it coming!! well said along with all the other’s above. I come here to this site because of the people and respect and treat everyone the way I wish to be treated. On a personal level I seen too much hate in this is a learned item you are not born with it. I was off GMG for about a week working trying to help and issue in this area where a 15, 16, 18 year olds beat up two homeless Native American down on there luck while sleeping on a mattress in field brutal to say the least…I had to come back to GMG to heal the wounded heart from this and regain spirit again! Don’t change a thing EJ I send you and email…About support!

Sky, so vast is the sky
With far away clouds just wandering by..
    Where do they go?
    Nobody knows, Nobody know…

Wind that speaks to the leaves
Telling a story that no one believes
    Stories of love
    Belong to you and me….

    Oh Dindi….
    If I only had words
I would say all the beautiful things that I see
    When you’re with me
    Happy Dindi

    Oh Dindi…
Like the song of the wind in the trees
That’s how my heart is singing Dindi, Yes I’m happy to be
When your with me, Please believe me
I love you more each day
Yes I do, mama yes I do, sincerly
I’d let you go your way
If you take me with you

Don’t you know, Don’t you know Dindi
I’d be running and searching for you
Like a river that can’t find the sea
    Yes that would be me
    Without you my Dindi

    Please don’t tease me
I love you more each day
Yes I do, mama yes I do, sincerly
I’d let you go your way
If you take me with you

Don’t you know, Don’t you know Dindi
I’d be running and searching for you
Like a river that can’t find the sea
    Yes that would be me
    Without you my Dindi
    Only you my Dindi
    Just…..for you my Dindi

Forgive yourself before you can forgive others…Most of us are doing the best that we can—really. But we’re not perfect. The truth is, we’re a work-in-progress. We learn from our mistakes and from stumbling. The best any of us can do, in any given moment, is to call it as we see it, to give it our best shot, none of us, however, certainly not I, have mastered life. It’s a matter of being realistic.

  12. No one wants to hear their negativity and bitterness. Amazing that they have nothing better to do. It would be so nice if those negative jerks could be blocked. Bad energy and bad people. Go away.

  13. I read GMG everyday… its largely responsible for my wife and I deciding to come from SC to spend three days in Gloucester this fall during our trip to New England. Can’t wait to eat some breakfast, shop, sail, take some pictures, visit Fred’s studio, EJs gallery and so much more. Pete

  14. Everyone is trying to create and share what they do, people who feel that their opinion matters and don’t
have the ability to create or add to something , have no reason to state any opinion. Were a community that has a lot
of talent and caring for one another we are growing in leaps and bounds with music, art and culture ,thank you
for posting my photographs and Google+ as they used to say “Keep on Truckin”
