The North Shore Arts Association Artist Members Offering Three July Workshops:

“Pastels” in The Studio.  July 11th – July 13th, 10 am – 4 pm.  Well known artist instructor Shelley Eager says, “Let’s Shake Things Up!”  She will offer exercises that “will turn up the heat and inspire some creativity.”  This workshop will suggest and encourage participants to change the way they normally approach their work by changing color palettes and working looser and faster.  She says, “You will be amazed how new stimulation and challenges can change the flow of your creative juices.”  Come spend three days to see how far you can push your creative vision.

“Pencil, Pastel and Acrylic” and The Plein Air Experience.  July 20th – July 22nd, 10 am – 4 pm.  Taught by noted artist Joy Buell, who for over 20 years has been taking plein air groups to Costa Rica and France, this workshop is for those who have never worked out of doors.  She encourages using mediums in colored pencil, pencil, pastel (both hard and soft) and acrylics.  Joy will advise about supplies, design and drawing in all these mediums.  She suggests bringing a portable chair for your comfort in painting outdoors.
“Oil & Acrylic” in The Studio with Charles Gruppe.  July 25th – July 27th, 10 am – 4 pm.  Nationally recognized artist Charles Gruppe shares his own unique techniques when using a palette knife and brush in a rapid wet-on-wet approach with tonal colors.  Quick and exciting, the results are a combination of impressionistic-style loose painting , clean color and detail.  Gruppe will demonstrate each day, and provide daily individual assistance.  All skill levels are welcome.

The North Shore Arts Association’s galleries are open, free to the public, Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Noon to 5 p.m.
