Local Fishing Legend Al Williams Has Fished Cape Ann Waters For 47 Years And Never Caught A Bonita…

Until today.   This is a fish they catch South of the Cape.   I’ve never seen one landed around here.  If you don’t think global warming is real,  you’re bananas.

  • My Grandfather used to catch bonito on the other Cape, Cape Cod, and they are delicious, too!

  • my dad would get one now and then in his mackeral trap when i was a kid back in the 60s the trap was off swampscott

  • Caught them in Woods Hole. Speedy little dudes, hard to keep up. Freshly purchased silver side plug tied directly to line. At least that’s what I was told you had to do since they have good vision even a tiny snap swivel and they spook.
