The Reward

DSCF4456Fred Bodin was rewarded today for his months of hard work recovering from his cancer related disability. For the first time since January, Fred was back at his gallery, Bodin Historic Photo on Main Street, Gloucester. After nibbling away at his accumulated work, Fred rewarded himself with something he could really sink his teeth into, Virgilio’s Eggplant Supreme. “I’ve been dreaming about this for months,” he said.

Fred said that he will be at the gallery on a limited hours basis until his strength and mobility are fully restored. For the time being, he hopes to be open for several hours every Saturday.

    1. The Viirgilios sandwich lived up to my expectations. With more hard work in PT. I’ll be able to start framing photos again and fill the empty spots in the gallery.

    1. Thanks for all your help Donna, today and every week over the last 4 months. Only sincere friends and family would do that.

    1. Slow is right Skip. Full speed ahead in physical/occupational therapy. What I did today with the help of my friends is something I’ve been focused on for 22 weeks from my hospital bed.

  2. Awesome Fred. You should try a garlic Italian sausage from Trupiano’s in a Virgilio roll. I just ate four (Picked them both up at Lanesville Package Store and mustard from Karl’s sausage.)

That place is right across from where I lived up until 1968 -it was the hall back then and mover’s stored furiture there. My younger brother who went back that way on a vacation with mom many moons ago – said David Morey opened it.

      Dave 🙂

    1. There are many rewards at play here. You named the best one, and it isn’t the delicious sub, Sharon.

  3. About The Reward: Marty is a master of naming posts with provocative titles, which can mean two or more things, and really makes one think. Sometimes I don’t see it clearly for a day or two. My rewards are improved health, getting back to work I’m passionate about, and the Virgilios sandwich. The rewards I perceive imparted to others are inspiration, hope, and faith that persistent hard work is worthwhile. I also trust my shared cancer posts have comforted others battling illness.
