Google “Nelson Mandela Quotes.” There are hundreds of inspirational quotes from Mandela. What words of wisdom from this greatest of men inspires you? Answer if you would like in the comment section. A quote that I read on many sites that particularly resonates with me is the following:
“I am fundamentally an optimist. Whether that comes from nature or nurture, I cannot say. Part of being optimistic is keeping one’s head pointed toward the sun, one’s feet moving forward. There were many dark moments when my faith in humanity was sorely tested, but I would not and could not give myself up to despair. That way lays defeat and death.”
And another:
“A fundamental concern for others in our individual and community lives would go a long way in making the world the better place we so passionately dreamt of.”
One more:

This was a great review and major message – the way he handled his treatment and overcoming the odds on his personl path. Was great even more so how he forgave many that’s the true heart of a warrior! Reminds of this saying (When you are ready to learn, it will come to you). I learned this lesson from my childhood (Forgiving) too many years later but learned none the less – holding in dislike or hate is always is a cancer that eats the person who owns it from the inside out and Nelson Mandela is a very wise man. 🙂 Thanks Kim – I would buy even more books but as a retiree APO limits us to one pound in and out post office box where I receive my mail. People USERs of APO that have exceeded this found out the hard way when it’s returned to sender 😦

That doesn’t seem fair–retired vets only allowed one pound–is that weekly, monthly? Especially in this day and age where packages are shipped with lightning speed around the globe.

It’s all retiree’s living here not just Dave…It’s a governement postal rule – not likely to change as the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) US-ROK agreements impact this also.That’s a postal regulation daily all the time if you use APO installation post office. You also have to put your box number with XXXXR =retired. I could use Korean mail but then items may be taxed coming in and may take some time along with high cost – I cannot afford on retirement pay!

I would suggest a Kindle or another similar-type tablet, but that may too expensive. You can create a library on Google Books, but there is nothing like holding a (physical) book in hand.
