Are these the wood shingles type?…I know they were popular in that era…and lots of houses had them in lanesville 60’s. Think the house I lived in was built in 1930’s from what I was told – not real insulated very well then and winter very cold – then had to sleep downstairs in winter to0 cold upstairs frosty the snowman had close friend – and heated house using kerosene stove, cooked on one also with an oven, Harveys oil bring bring the truck up on Washington street drag the hoses up the granite stairs and fill the 50 fallon drum in spare back room to fill the jerry cans with. House came with outhouse far back yard by tree – until a toliet was finally put in, my how things have changed, lots of boliers too that were coal feed shovel and steam radiators 🙂
