Hi Joey
I was taking photos yesterday Oct 3,when i noticed these strange
clouds in the sky. It was about 5:30 pm. Maybe someone on the blog
might have some info?
Best, Anthony

This is an atmospheric optic. I believe it is a partial corona. Check it out at Wikipedia. Sun dogs are similar but seen to the left or right of the sun. Cool pictures, Anthony!

I would say that is a parhelion. They appear when the atmosphere is very moist. If they appear on either side of the sun, they are called sun dogs, if they appear above and below they are often called the Eye of Horus.
