Does anyone know what the things are that are sticking up out of the sand? It looks like they were uncovered by the ocean, but what do you think they are?

The snow fence is gone that protects the dunes for foot traffice and all that was left was the posts.. also look how much dune we lost

My guess are regular garden stakes to protect the dunes. The plastic fencing is gone.
I remember seeing the Annisquam River bellbuoy (AR1) washed up there years ago.
