I had the original 1965 game — the Ski date, the Swim date, the Tux date — and don’t forget the Dud!

My neighbor had this game. My brother crossed out “Dud” and replaced the word with “Boo” (my nickname) where ever he could. Scares that to this day have yet to heal. Oh, well.

The game also had a part in the Christmas movie “The Santa Clause”. The little boy’s Mom had wanted the “Mystery Date Game” for Christmas when she was a little girl and when she didn’t get it, she stopped believing in Santa. She didn’t tell anyone this, but later in the movie, to prove to her that he really was Santa Claus, Tim Allen’s character surprised her with the game.

I always wanted this game as a young girl…never got it. Guess I was always on the naughty list!
