Paul donated his services printing the Beefy T’s (the best quality T’s money can buy) I got by printing the Beth Swan designed logo on them. The money raised by the sale of the T Shirts will go toward paying the hosting fees for GMG!
If you didn’t notice earlier today Paulie knocked it out of the park with his Gloucester Zen style video of the sunset from the State Fish Pier, check it!-

Celebrate The 17th Anniversay of the Monday Night Open Jamm~Special Guests Soule Monde ~ Russ Lawton & Ray Paczkowski of the Trey Anastasio Band
I am still reeling from blueberry and sugar overload from yesterday’s Mug Up Blueberry Bake Competition. In addition to baked entries by Deb Shradieck, Joanne Souze and Joy Kasmer, there were also blueberry crumb cake and blueberry pie donations (thanks Violet Gray), as well as blueberry deviled eggs (unexpectedly good – it was Ed Collard’s idea) and the always delicious non blueberry contribution by Paul Morrison of Latoff Farms Monkey Bread. Madfish Sushi god, Jordan Ruben’s father Greg was visiting and joined in the fun, and long time no see friends Pete and Joyce Chamberlain were in the house. Of course, H.A. Lind was there with her beautiful exhibit of new Cape Ann focused paintings, here at the gallery through August 30. If you missed her well attended opening yesterday afternoon, she will be having a meet the artist reception on Sunday, August 26th from 2:00-4:00.
The Winners of the Blueberry Bake Competition were:
#1 Best Overall Entry – Deb Schradiek’s Blueberry Cake
#2 Best Presentation and Most Unique – Joanne Souza’s Blueberry shortbread squares with fresh mint
#3 Best Blueberry Pancake You ever tasted in your life – Joy Kasner’s awesome huge blueberry pancake. In addition to being a great blueberry pancake maker, Joy is also an amazing psychic and is still giving angel readings at the gallery, by appointment or evenings Thursday through Sunday.
The Esteemed Judges were major foodies Ed Collard and dapper looking in paisley, Paul Morrison, and Maine born and bred blueberry expert and Wendie Demuth’s squeeze, Langley Willauer.
Music, dancing, laughter, friends, and food–wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could dine alfresco on Main Street every night of the summer!

Al Bezanson and I are determined To GET YOU INVOLVED IN WHAT SHOULD BE ONE OF THE TOP EVENTS HELD ALL YEAR IN THIS FINE PORT!
The Gloucester Schooner Festival!
Joey…. TYRONE has a local connection as this schooner was designed by Sam Crocker of Manchester. This year she will be sailing in her first Gloucester Schooner Race in the Medium Class with ADVENTURER, ARDELLE and LANNON. She was built in 1939 at Simms Brothers in Dorchester, MA. Last month she was featured at the Crocker Memorial Race in Manchester and here you see Harold Simms, owner Matt Sutphin and Sam Crocker’s great grandson Skip Crocker. Harold was 14 when TYRONE was built. He had us enthralled at the Crocker event with fond recollections of Sam Crocker and building TYRONE.
Matt recently began a chartering operation and is seeking passengers for the race and the coming and going to Gloucester.
TYRONE is one of the featured schooners in this new book

If you entered the free contest watch the video to see if it was you who won!
Also bonus points for anyone who can pick out the snots that I wiped on my shirt prior to filming this piece. Question- What’s worse watching a video with a guy with snots running down his face or watching a video with snots on his shirt that he wiped from his upper lip before filming said video?
The Contest was sponsored by www.gimmesound.com Sista felicia and The Mrs Mason Jar Co
Here are some pictures from the Paint Essex Day and Wet Paint Auction tonight at the Cox Reservation. We painted in the rain and had a great time.
