…which is represented by an anchor in Christian iconography. Nice nautical imagery for a stained glass window in Gloucester. I expect we’ll be hearing a lot about hope as this election year goes forward.
Wherever you find your hope, share it with someone who needs it. Hope grows when we share it, and the more people are inspired by it, the better chance it has of coming true.

i am reminded of the words of an old woman: “hope? i never hope. hope is a step above despair; which is a sin against God. I prefer to trust and get busy doing what I can do, trusting that God will see me through.”
I know some definitions equate hope to trust.
could you speak to this?
btw: yesterday I was looking at the rusty anchor that greets one when entering Capt. Joe’s. when i saw your opening sentence, i expected to see that rusty orange anchor.
