As promised here is part II of my conversation with Melissa Smith Abbott
I’m pretty sure we could have easily done parts III IV and V as Melissa has so much to say.

The Mrs read through it on the beach yesterday and said it was very cool and noted that for someone who grew up around here it would be extremely interesting.
Interesting apparatus, Madame Lafarge. What’s it used for?

It’s that time of year again as we head off our annual fundraisers with Fun Day for Kidz. This fundraiser is filled with fun for everyone in the family big and small and affordable too.
Please forward this email attachment to all of your friends. All of the proceeds go to the JJ Nicastro Foundation which gives out numerous scholarships for the young people in Gloucester. Press on the Full Fun Day Flyer attachment. Please let me know if you can not open the attachment.

On Saturday August 14th, the Cape Ann YMCA hosted it’s 2nd Annual Ultimate Frisbee Tournament at Magnolia woods. Teams from around the North Shore came for a beautiful day of competitive Frisbee. The finals were between defending champions Community Church of East Gloucester and the Gibbering Wombats. The Gibbering Wombats, were a group of individuals who had never met but were joined as one team.

“Another opener! Judythe Meagher opens her solo exhibit “Gloucester Up Close and Personal” at the North Shore Arts Association, starting today and showing through the 31st. These new works promise to be even more spectacular than the watercolors, oils and acrylics found at her Rocky Neck gallery. She is hosting a reception on Friday, August 20th, 5-7.”

I thought you might like to post these "creature" photos from Stage Fort Park that I took at the Waterfront Festival yesterday. The creature was the hit of the festival.
The Gloucester Police Department has just reported that a counterfeit $20.00 bill has been discovered in downtown Gloucester. The police say that typically there are a lot of bills circulated quickly.
Please be on the lookout for a poor quality twenty. The bill will feel more like paper than legal currency. It is the bill with Jackson’s head in a circle; the bill is darker. Generally the counterfeit bills will carry the same serial numbers, so look for repetition. If you turn up a counterfeit, immediately contact Gloucester police at (978) 283-1212. If the perpetrator is in the store, call 911.
