Joey Ciolino and Kyle Edmonds Take First Row Of The Season 2010

It’s that time of year again- Dory Rowing Season has officially begun with the launching of the racing dories last weekend.  I know I’ve said it a bunch of times on these pages but the $50 for the entire year that it costs to use the Dories is the best value for participating on Gloucester Harbor going.  Here’s the link on how you can get involved for a mere $50-

  • I think I am dropping the 50 this year for that deal. I need to get my lard ass in shape for the Blackburn. Can I use a kayak paddle and sit the way God meant us to sit in a boat, pointing forward?

The first perfect weekend and I am going to be in California. Totally sucks. Someday soon I will never have to leave the island.

  • Yes, this is Joe and Kyle’s year.
We moved the racing dories last weekend but plan a work day to get them ready to launch in May.
Kyle and Joe are in one of the two practice dories that we row all winter.
I do not know if it is their first row. A lot of us have been rowing every day.
Paul, you can face forward and scull with one oar. There is a notch in the transom for your sculling oar.
I would not want to scull the Blackburn though.
