Wally Goosed Me!!

I won’t wait until my normal 2 PM post since this is right off the presses. Today is Red Sox Truck Day and I spotted Wally in the Souvenir Shop. It must have been a long cold winter for Wally since he goosed me big time. 8)

The rest of the story. Here is the truck almost ready to go. It leaves at noon.

What does this all mean? It means there are only six days until Pitchers and Catchers report to Spring Training (Pap and Wake are already there) and only 43 days until you can eat a real wiener sitting in the bleacher seats in front of Top Dog on Bear Skin Neck.

New ice cream shop opens in West End this weekend

From the Beacon-

Gloucester residents Jerry Ciolino Jr. and Steve Maniaci are opening West End Sweets at 37 Main St., Gloucester, in the store front that once housed Mike’s Pastry.

West End Sweets will be open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. The store’s first day of business will be on Friday, May 1 and the grand opening, featuring Wally the Green Monster, will be on Sunday, May 3, from 2-4 p.m.

West End Sweets will offer ice cream, slush, sundaes, Seine Boat floats, flurries, banana splits, frappes, freezes, protein shakes, fruit smoothies, spumoni, espresso, coffee, hot dogs, old fashioned candy and ice cream cannolis.

Our signature item is the Storm where customers can choose one of our five Storm Station creations that include ice cream and mix-ins. West End Sweets offers more than 40 mix-ins as well as more than 20 combined ice cream and frozen yogurt ice cream flavors.

The highlight of the Grand Opening weekend is Sunday, May 3, from 2-4 p.m. as Wally the Green Monster from the Boston Red Sox will meet and greet the customers. The first 100 children to visit Wally will get a Mascot Photo Card.

Any customer who purchases an ice cream that day will also be entered into a raffle where the winner will receive two tickets to the sold out Mother’s Day game between the Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays. The drawing will be held at 6 p.m.
