Fish Box Derby Registration and Weigh-in was held at the Fisk Organ shop today, here are a few pics!  We will also accept registrations and do inspections for those who could not make it today – this Wednesday evening Sept. 11th, 6-7pm.  We urge any previous racers who may be interested in loaning or selling their cars to contact the Fish Box Derby at 978-283-1932.  Don’t forget the THRILL OF THE HILL! this Sunday, Sept. 15th at High Noon, on Rogers Street hill!

Event Information

2013 Fishbox Derby Race will be held

September 15th High Noon

The cars are entered into one of two categories: “Freestyle” or “Modified”. Prize categories include the traditional First, Second, Third, Fourth, Best Pit Crew and Koolest Car. In the past, First Place winners have won a mountain bike from Seaside cycle, Second Place winners have won a six month family membership to the YMCA, Third Place winners have won tickets from Cape Ann Whale Watch  and Fourth Place winners have won wrist watch. Many other great prizes donated by local merchants are awarded.

Donations made to the Fish Box Derby Race help to cover all race related expenses. The balance is placed in a scholarship fund for the young participants. Each participant is eligible to apply for scholarship funds as she or he prepares to graduate from High School. Here are some photos of the Fish Box Derby registration and weigh-in held last Sunday morning at C. B. Fisk.  The race will be this Sunday, Sep. 16th, at High Noon on the Rogers St. Hill.  We encourage everyone to come out there Sunday and cheer these fantastic kids on – the Thrill of the Hill is at its best with a great audience!

Cub Scout Pack 112 Registration Night Thursday, January 27, 2011

Hey Joey,

Would love your help to spread the word.  We are restarting  a Cub Scout Pack here in Gloucester sponsored by the Masonic Temple.  Any boys in grades 1st through 5th are eligible to join.  Lots of fun activities and a great award system for the boys. Any adult volunteers would be a great help too!

Could you please post this on the website.  We are trying to generate a great turnout this Thursday night!

Getting to the Race
Route 128 North to first rotary. Take second exit off the rotary. Follow 128 extension to lights. Take left onto Eastern Ave/127. Follow 1/2 mile to Shaw™s Plaza and make immediate right onto Barn Lane. At bottom of hill take a left onto Thatcher Road and follow for 1/2 mile. Good Harbor entrance is on the right.

Parking
Parking for the race is available in the parking lot of Good Harbor Beach. Please do not park on Nautilus Road as this will impede the finish area for the race.

Course Description
The starting line is at the intersection of Atlantic Road and Nautilus Road. Continue on Atlantic Road for approximately 1.5 miles and make a right onto Grapevine Road. Follow Grapevine Road till the intersection of Grapevine Road and Eastern Point Road and make a left. Cross over Eastern Point Road immediately and follow past Niles Beach and bear to the right, through the stone gateway and onto Eastern Point Boulevard. Run along the right side of the road and bear to the right at the “One Way” sign and make a left onto Lake Avenue. This will bring you past Niles Pond and back onto Eastern Point Boulevard. Make a right onto Bemo Avenue then a left onto St. Louis Avenue. Then make a right onto Farrington Avenue and veer to the left at the top of the hill onto Atlantic Avenue. Follow back to the finish line on Nautilus Road.

    • Letter sent to a licensed customer when his/her license is reinstated, provided that the license is active
