As host to the fantastic Taste of Cape Ann, the Cruiseport Gloucester was the place to be last night!
We went….and we tasted.
What a tremendous collection of Cape Ann’s finest purveyors, establishments, and eateries serving up some delicious food, decadent treats, and a choice selection of beverages…all in the name of a fantastic cause. Can you say, “Win, Win”? Many excellent raffle items also helped to raise more money and give other local businesses the opportunity to get involved in this tremendous event.
All ticket sales will go towards supporting Cape Ann YMCA Teen Service Trips to New Orleans, Navajo Nation, and Nicaragua. I’m not sure I can think of a better learning opportunity for our community’s youth than providing them the chance to help communities that are in dire need. It is worth mentioning that I couldn’t have been more impressed by the students that were in attendance to represent the YMCA last night. They were enthusiastic, incredibly helpful, and wonderfully polite. Several times throughout the evening I was asked, “Is there anything I can do for you?” and they were right there to remove plates from tables, tidy the function space, and offer friendly smiles. Great job, kids! Way to represent!

I volunteered tonight for Open Door Empty Bowl it actually is a selfish volunteering because I always get more than I give and I meet the most amazing people have fun and do it for a good cause. I do it cuz I’m selfish. You should try it u will never regret the time you give I never have”

Last night the Gloucester Housewives, Lillian LoGrasso, Sabrina Alves Giordano , Nina Randazzo, Christine Guarrasi DaSilva, Cinsia Ciolino, and Josie Ferrara Martell hosted their annual Christmas Party at Cruisport Gloucester.
Early yesterday, Lillian LoGrasso made a public announcement that the weather forecast for the evening was predicted to be “100% chance of fun with a few scattered crazies!!!” She could not have been more correct! The snow did not stop this party from happening. Party goers arrived at Cruisport dressed in their very best holiday attire sporting snow boats and clutching their dancing shoes! The festive vibe in the ballroom was contagious with a packed dance floor all evening. This morning I woke thinking of all the times my parents, aunts, uncles, and grandparents would pack the Amery on Prospect street each New Years Eve, for this type of fun. I am so thankful that the Gloucester housewives brought this tradition back to our beautiful community. Photos courtesy of the Housewives-

My buddies Peter and Vickie Van Ness are the creative masterminds behind some of the best websites in Gloucester. They are the driving forces behind http://gloucesterma.com/, www.gimmesound.com , http://rudderrestaurant.com/ and Cruiseport’s site-
Understanding the idea behind the www.gloucesterwebcam.com to drive visitors to our local business and community organization’s websites, Peter and Vickie did what I’m hoping others will do with their webcams- embed them on their sites to give visitors a reason to return to their otherwise static websites. If a prospective visitor knows that every time they click on that business or organization’s website they will have the live scenic view of beautiful Gloucester harbor, they will have a reason to return over and over again.
So here is the page on Cruiseport’s site which gives Gloucester Port Parameters for incoming vessels-
Brilliant! Great Job Vickie and Peter!
and great job by Tim at www.GloucesterBytes.com for doing a fantastic job with the webcam install!
If you have web design needs give Peter and Vickie a call at 978-525-9093
There had to be 30 volunteers. People helping out to greet and give directions to the visiting cruisers coming off the Eurodam cruise ship today at Cruiseport.
Fresh Lump Crab, red and green peppers, and bread crumbs. $3.00 beer. Harbor view. I have a feeling The Seaport Grill will be doing some business this summer.
