Community Stuff 7/25/14

Joey,

This sweet juvenile tabby cat showed up at my door this evening. (Thursday) He is a sweet, vocal tabby with white boots. He seems to be well cared for and lost, not a stray. Could you please share with your readers and help him find his way home?

Found on Middle St. near the Boulevard.

FINAL 2014 Essex Wet Paint

Hi Joey,

Everyone had such a good time dancing on the wooden floor at the American Legion that we’ll be back there again this Friday, July 25.  The dancing gets underway promptly at 7:30 PM with live music by the Cape Ann House Contra Band.  As always, we hope new dancers will join us.  Everyone is welcome.  No experience is necessary.  All dances are taught.

A donation of $10 is requested of each dancer. Dancers under 16 are free.

Potluck contributions of non-alcoholic drinks as well as finger snack foods are welcome to be brought and shared during the break. Water bottles are recommended to reduce our use of paper cups.

This event is supported in part by a grant from the Gloucester Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.

Cape Ann Contra Dance can be contacted at capeanncontradance@gmail.com

Hi Joey!  Please help us spread the word about this Cruise.

The Suicide rate among veterans and active duty is double and even triple the rates of civilians at a rate of almost 1 per hour, every day!

22+ Veterans and 1 Active duty Soldier takes their own life each day.

In 2012 more soldiers died by their own hand, than in combat.  Suicide was the #1 cause of death within our military that year.

It takes all of us to prevent suicide!  So please, step up and act.  Reach out to a friend, family member, veteran in need.
