  • I will gladly boycott as Freddy is about to snap because he hasn’t been able to get a cucumber there for days. I also like how the two options in your poll are really the same option. So, to heck with those who would have chosen to not boycott. I’m not not boycotting :)

  • Well, I am kinda confused because do you mean boycott them ’cause the employees are being fruitcakes and what they are doing is wrong? Or do you mean JOIN the employees and by boycotting you are saying frig this corporate mentality of f- the regular folks so the investors can make more $ and the employees get screwed. I say boycott MB to SUPPORT the employees and show corporate that they can’t get away with the crap they are trying to pull.

  • Why are people boycotting Market Basket? I think I’m out of the loop.

I need to read up on the issues. But it looks like there’s no food to buy there anyway, according to the photo of the empty produce shelves

  • I am not going to bother shopping there and I’m going to Stop & Shop until this is resolved….. also mainly because there will be nothing much left on the shelves anyway… but also just want this silly strike to end. I could see if it was over benefits, salary but this is like c’mon now.

    • Sarah Watch the news it is about all of those things they want to stop profit sharing for the employees, and they want to raise prices and just make more money for themselves They are fighting for their jobs, benefits and for the lower prices MB provides for all of us. If you to any other market and buy the exact same food order you will be paying as LEAST a third more then you will at MB! Keep up the good work MB I am behind all of you and what you stand for 110%

  • Isn’t this just a good, old-fashioned family feud? Joey, can we get some updated gossip please? Then, perhaps we can decide if it’s even worth answering the poll. Thanks.

    • If you end the papers the gist is that the guy that was ousted was the one who was dedicated to lower prices and the relative that is replacing him is more beholden to the shareholders and the thought is that the new guy is going to make MB just like all the other supermarkets (read higher priced)

      • If his employees are willing to walk out and risk their jobs, there’s probably more than higher prices for customers in the future. Lower wages, fewer benefits – corporate mentally at its worst.

  • When a crapload of employees are willing to risk their jobs for the sake of their leader…it seems to me there has got to be some merit to the situation. I will boycott. After I return the strawberries and peaches I bought there on Saturday that were rotten on Sunday….

  • Bummer! There goes The awesome cheese steak subs.
I was laid off from my job in august 2011 then the same company hired me back part time a year later. That means no Benefits. Unfortunately This is the future.

  • I’ve always been impressed by the helpfulness and fine spirit of MB employees. Better than any other store or chain. I guess these folks have felt valued and rewarded by MB management and I am happy to support them in any way I can. Won’t shop there and reward the new management for betraying the ideals (and deals) the workers value.
