MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE Found on Niles Beach Sunday Afternoon

Message in a bottle ©Kim Smith 2014

Nathan from Littleton found this message in a bottle. The bottle had been sealed with a cork and wax. He’s promised to write in to the comment section at GMG to let us know what was written on the note!

      1. My son Josh wrote the message in a bottle. I saw you sent me a friend request on facebook. I clicked the wrong button and now the request is gone! Can you send me another? Thanks!!!!

  3. I met Nate yesterday just after he found the bottle; it’s pretty amazing because it sounded like he was very open to having an experience like this just before he found it ! Can’t wait to hear what was in it !

  4. It is probably one of the most interesting, and undoubtedly, coolest thing I’ve ever found at the beach. (maybe in my life) I found it laying in some rocks and I am really surprised it never broke.

The very first question from everybody is “what’s in it’, but I haven’t opened it yet. I want to show my grandfather before I open it, and read the note.

On the note inside, I can make out ….May 11.. so I hope that its not May 11 2014, but either way, I still a message in a bottle.

I’ll open it Wednesday night, and also try to post some pictures of the note itself. 🙂 I’m excited!

  5. He’s not opening the message until he shows his grandfather? How great is that. This story keeps getting better and better. Thanks Kim and Nathan for sharing this fun story.

    1. Thanks John. I found the bottle exactly 6 months after my grandmothers passing. My grandfather wasnt as excited as me, and advised that I shouldnt open it. Hah.

  6. This is awesome!! I’m at Niles all the time and while I’ve found some cool sea glass and shells and driftwood, never a message in a bottle, very jealous, but also very interested in the note and love Nathan’s update and Paul’s guess.

  7. How cool! I can’t wait to see what this says, either! The paper looks like it might be aged a bit…

      1. Still cool! Finding a message in a bottle is like a free pass to talk to strangers 🙂 You get to make friends you never would have otherwise!

  8. Totally Cool….! The unfolding of the whole story; and the fact that this was in the imagination of an 11 year old boy – very cool !!! And Nathan – yes; sorry, I didn’t see your comment before this -it’s Margi, whom you met on Niles w/Ella that night ! A great adventure all-around…keep open !
