  • And then it re-froze!
Have you all noticed that the evasive phragmites has been attacked. Phragmites is a major issue along the Eastern Seaboard as it encroaches on essential habitats for all manner of ocean life. The Niles Pond Conservancy Group has been working hard to preserve this Great Pond. And using methods used by groups such as Mass Audubon have selectively treated the phragmites. A few weeks ago the dead stuff was cut down, revealing views of the Pond that have not been seen for a number of years.
