Hi Joey C,
I’ve been a subscriber to GMG for about 6 months and thoroughly enjoy the ‘inside scoop’ on all that is going on in the community.
We will be spending our first Christmas in Cape Ann this year and was interested in your readers suggestions for activities that week.
What’s on their top 10 list???????
All the best,
Sarah

  • The Middle Street Walk Saturday from 10-5. Cape Ann Museum, City Hall tours and gingerbread houses, seARTS wearable art at the Sawyer Free Library, Sargent House, UU Church, Lobster Trap Tree lighting, etc., etc.

  • Come down to Savour Wine and Cheese for our Annual Men’s Night party, Thursday, December 19 from 5 – 8 p.m. We taste out Port, craft beers, and 20 wines on the wine machines (always free). We’ll have a cheese board, appetizers from Chef Matt Beach and 10% off everything in the store for men. (Women are welcome too and all food and beverage is complimentary). If you don’t make it then, come in any time to taste 20 wines for free and sample our cheeses, custom-roasted coffee, holiday dips and spreads, and much more. Cape Ann is a wonderful place for Christmas – welcome!

  • December 21 is the 68th annual Christmas nativity pageant in Rockport at 5pm – the procession of Mary and wisemen and donkeys etc come up Main St to the lawn of the Congregational Church as they are doing this the story of the birth of Jesus is being told over loud speakers and then everyone sings Christmas songs – I’m actually not a very religious person but this is one of my favorite Cape Ann Christmas activities – it really is beautifully done. That and of course the GMG party at the Bodin Gallery!
