Huge Thanks To The Captains Of Wicked Tuna- Dave Carraro and Dave Marciano

I’m not sure people around here outside of the restaurateurs and shop owners realize the impact that these guys have had on local business.

These hard working fishermen and real life men of character have captured the hearts of America from their legions of fans who watch Wicked Tuna.

I can’t begin to tell you how many people I run into from all over the country that come in and ask where they can see The Hard Merchandise or Tuna.com.  They love the show and they come to Gloucester to stay for vacation, eat at our restaurants and shop in our shops.  But it doesn’t end there.  They stay at our hotels, they book charters and when their charters are filled up they pass off those charters on to other local charter boat Captains.

I hear it over and over and over again and these people are coming from all over the country.

So when you see these guys around town, give ‘em a pat on the back and say thanks for representing our City and making us proud.

  1. Well said and so True impact! The spiney one Dave Marciano is holding your taught about as kid not to play with the horns…Ouch. Or like the pinch of the seaworms in the box with seaweed painful.

    Great show and it’s a hit world-wide! 🙂

  2. A week doesn’t go by that a customer doesn’t walk into Nelson’s and ask where they can go to see those boats and ask questions about the guys. I’ve met a few of the other fellows but I do know Capt. Dave Marciano and he is one of THE nicest, most unassuming, regular guys you’ll ever meet. A really good guy. I’ll admit I’m proud everytime I have the opportunity to say he shops us and I know him.

  3. I was in Gloucester in September to write an article for National Fisherman magazine about these guys and the Wicked Tuna show. I got to fish with them and experience the filming part for 4 days-not to mention the fact that while I was there I stayed, ate and shopped locally. I am proud to say I got to know them and felt 100% at home with them. They are real people of the finest kind and it’s about time the get recognized for the important role they have always played in the local economy. Like we say in Maine “Commercial Fishermen help you live better” –
