Fun at Khan Studio and the GMG Gallery

fun at khan studio and GMG Gallery

No one can say we don’t have lots of fun at Khan Studio and the Good Morning Gloucester Gallery at Madfish Wharf on Rocky Neck.  In case anyone is wondering what the bunch of us are doing - we’re downing these amazing jello shots made by Alicia Penderosa.

The gallery is now open and the first major event will be our Grand Opening Mug Up on Sunday, May 26th from 9:00am-11:30 or so.   Most galleries have their openings in the evening so they can feed you lovely little tidbits and ply you with alcohol to entice you to buy something.  Since this is Khan Studio and the Good Morning Gloucester Gallery, we’re going for a Good Morning grand opening with deviled eggs, cheesecake and mimosas (in memory of Evelyn), so some plying will take place along with good morning fun and food.  There will of course be coffee and tea for those who don’t imbide that early in the day – but as Wendie Demuth always said, it’s 5 o’clock somewhere.

About E.J.

Artist, researcher, writer, spiritual traveler of this fascinating orb we inhabit, lover of life and all it has to offer. Hi everyone out there in GMG land. My name is Ellen “E.J.” Lefavour (a/k/a “Ejay Khan” – the pseudonym I used during my years as a political activist artist). I moved to Cape Ann in September of 2010, and was thrilled to be invited by Joey to become a daily contributor to Good Morning Gloucester in December of that year. I am a painter, photographer and writer who has lived and worked as an artist for 20 years, since leaving the corporate world in 1990 to pursue my passion. My contributions to GMG will consist of images (either my paintings, photographs, montages or the occasional video) and a little history about the image, called “Did you Know?” I hope to come up with tidbits of information that people don’t already know, or had forgotten they knew. As I am new here, everything is new and fascinating to me, especially the amazing history, so bear with me if I post something that is common knowledge – I’ll eventually come up with something that’s new to you. As an artist, I will also write about the incredible art scene on Cape Ann. Please take a minute to comment on my posts, like them or not, especially if you have corrections or something to add, as that is how I, and all of us, learn. Have a Good Morning Gloucester, and a blessed day.

  1. By this weekend I might need morning jello shots. And one of these days I am going to make Alicia’s pink lemonade jello shots. By Sunday I might even find that shirt.

The best and Yes it’s time for ‘Mug Up’ fun ~ See you there if I am not exhausted after my Gallery Opening the night before ~ big week on Madfish Wharf ^_^

  3. I found a photo of Alicia’s shots and she is wearing that shirt so I think these are the ones we were having that day. Very tasty. Someone even tied a knot in the cherry stem in their mouth.

Thanks Alicia! I know mornings don’t work for you with the restaurant, but we’ll be doing an evening GMG party soon that hopefully you’ll be able to come to.
