Wow. Words fail me. This is stunning. It shows the incredible chaos and enormous, horrific human tragedy of that day, in a way I haven’t seen before. As difficult as it is to watch, we should all see this, all the way through. Thank you for sharing it.
Unbelievable..I think we need to be reminded of the horror of this every once in a while.
Unbelievable footage. Did this just emerge after all these years? The first segment is particularly astounding.
So so sad
Lets not forget the good men over in Afghanistan fighting for your country
So so sad
This are bad bad people we are up against!
Amazing footage!
Some interesting facts to note. The building the cameraman enters around the 6 minute mark is WTC7. This building was 47 stories tall and weighed 230,000 tons. It appeared to collapse in approximately 6 seconds at 5:20pm on 9/11. Conspiracy theorists say it was brought down by a controlled demolition, however it barely registered a seismic signal at any of the local seismographic stations. Its seismic signal was equivalent to only a couple of stories hitting the ground – not 47 stories.
WTC 1′s demise occurs at about the 18 minute mark. It also failed to register much of a seismic signal (equivalent to only about 20 stories hitting the ground, not 110 stories). Curiously the seismic signal lacks S and P waves. The signal only contained surface waves – as if most of the building’s mass had been simply ‘removed’ (or perhaps turned to dust before it hit the ground). The dyke which protected the PATH trains and basement levels of the WTC complex from the Hudson river was not breached. One might expect this concrete wall which ran right beside the towers to have been breached considering the twin towers weight 1,000,000 tons. If this dyke had been breached the Hudson would have flowed in and flooded the subway system (the WTC complex was built on reclaimed land).
Another interesting fact is that 16 people who were between the ground level and the 20th floor of WTC1 when it was destroyed survived! They all ended up in and on top of the rubble which extended no higher than the height of the lobby itself. When the dust cleared they could see blue sky above their heads where, moments before, a 110 story, 500,000 thousand ton tower had stood. They suffered no major injuries and they all walked out by themselves with the assistance of a few ropes and firemen.
The television likes to show us the same handful of images over and over again, but when you look at what really happened that day it was something which was (almost) beyond comprehension.
