The Farm Bar & Grille and Good Morning Gloucester together with YMCA Camp Spindrift present the 3rd annual outdoor bikini/speedo dodgeball tournament to benefit Next Step, a charity that provides aid to children and young adults with life threatening illnesses (www.nextstepnet.org)
2 MAJOR CHANGES THIS YEAR:
The event itself will be held at YMCA Camp Spindrift in West Gloucester. They have an ideal facility to accommodate this event as it grows. Parking will be at nearby Wingaersheek Beach and there will be a shuttle between the parking lot and Camp Spindrift.
On Wednesday, March 13th at 7pm there will be a COMPETITOR’S PRE-EVENT MEETING at the Farm Bar & Grille in Essex, MA (233 Western Ave). The purpose of this meeting will be to give the athletes their tshirts and wristbands, as well as go over the rules of play and verify athletes’ age and make sure swimwear is all legal. At least one person from each team should be present. The idea here is to make everything run smoothly on the day of the event.
This is a 21+ event, all participants MUST be 21+. We will play through snow or light rain, but in the event of extreme weather there is a makeup date the next weekend. This is a double elimination team tournament, each team will have 5 players with a minimum of 2 women per team. We will be using basic team dodge ball rules with a few modifications for the outdoors and teams of 5.
All team members MUST compete in bikini or speedo style swimwear (no swim shorts, jean shorts, etc.) or face automatic elimination. Your team’s competition swimwear must be approved at the pre event meeting at the Farm on Weds, March 13th at 7pm. Send at least one member of your team with your swimwear to pick up wristbands, shirts, and go over details for the competition. You can find some good themed uniforms here, don’t wait until the last minute:
Non-competitors: there will be a $5 minimum donation at the gate to watch the day’s events. The Farm will have food and drink available on the Camp Spindrift grounds. Remember, ALL of the profits from this event are going to a GREAT CAUSE!

DEADLINE: Register your team’s t-shirt sizes by Friday, Feb 8 in order to be guaranteed the size you want, after that, no promises!
