  1. Gloria Parsons says:

    Dear Bob,
When the restoration work on the Joan of Arc statue was finished in 2001, a public rededication ceremony was celebrated.

    • For the record, I have to say that Gloria Parsons isn’t telling the whole story, and its a good one – it was her girl scout troop that was responsible for raising funds to restore our great sculpture, arranged for the rededication, and played a big role in the event itself. I can’t help but think that the experience of working with their scout mistress on this project (and other significant projects) influenced these scouts in important ways. They are now grown women who are making some very valuable contributions to our communities, and, interestingly enough, some of them choose careers in preservation and the arts.
