That’s the low tide yacht club. Many years ago there was a yacht club on Wiley Street – outer harbor not inner harbor!
George’s Place!!
So, now I’m very curious. George’s place? Who is/was George? Is it a real yacht club? A Google search reveals a Low Tide Yacht Club in New Bedford, but none in Gloucester. I pray that some knowledgeable person will enlighten me! (I would trot around, find it myself, and check it out, but I’m presently in Hong Kong…)
The George is George Sibley. It isn’t a real yacht club. I think it’s an ice fishing shack in his yard by Sailor Stan’s restaurant.
