    Riviera Maya is one of my favorite destinations! Playa del Carmen is a fun town with lots of authenticity, safe, and inexpensive…Besides – it’s warm, sunny, and has beautiful water – why am I still in Cape Ann in February???

    My family and I went to Playa in 2006 cause every place else was booked, relatively quiet and undiscovered then, went zip lining over a river in a jungle, had lunch with a Mayan family, belayed down into and went tubing in a sinkhole under ground with headlamps on viewing up close stalagtights and stalagmites, trucked through a jungle viewing gum trees (yes, they make gum from them) hiked several pyramids, swam in the aqua water,sampled lots of rum at the beach bars. best vaca ever. Safe, cheap, perfect. Lois Budrose
