Poll results

Well, the results of yesterday’s poll are pretty clear.  The vast majority of those who voted, were of the opinion that I should keep posting on GMG, perhaps including some disclaimer, or commentary when I disagree with something.  That’s pretty much what I was tending to think too.  Along those lines, I added a disclaimer of sorts to my profile description.

I hope that those who voted the opposite – that I should not be associated with the blog (two options to this effect were included in the poll, varying slightly on the reasons for leaving) – will understand my decision, which I think is pretty well explained by some of the comments that people posted.  Thank you for all your feedback, pro and con!

Speaking of juxtaposing very different kinds of content, here’s a photo I took of a statue of a family of Jelly Babies in front of the Gothic tower of the church of St. Germain L’Auxerrois in Paris.

Whatever, right?

  1. Are you going to put a disclaimer on all pictures of catholic church? ______ may or my not have happened here and I do not condone the actions of its inhabitants.

    Fr Matthew Green,
Should a man walk out of his work at a factory because it was, unavoidably, noticed that another man was talking about his mistress? Should a man walk out of Dunkin Donuts because it was, again unavoidable, that you were standing next to a red neck talking about that M—– F—– foot ball game? Well Fr. Green, will you walk away from the blog because of someone else using 4 letter words to explain the mating habits of homies??

If you and these other men do, then you will miss out on the chance that they just might notice you and your use of words or pictures to spread love and compassion. What a loss they will have.

    Rock On !!

  3. Fr. Green, Your photo is wonderful. It speaks louder than words ever could!. I believe that different views of the world can coexist where there is tolerance and love. We live in a diverse world and Joeys blog reflects that: a big tent event that is filled with love for this beautiful City we share.
