About Marty Luster

I'm Marty Luster, a retired attorney and politician. In 2010 my wife, mother-in-law, dog and I relocated from Central NY to Gloucester. I hope my photographs and poetry(?) reflect my love for this place and her people. My picture-poem posts can be seen at and selected black and white images can be found at

  1. Even with magnification, I couldn’t figure out what this is. A trailer or boat hitch for a car? Lot’s of tension there, except for the plant climbing up the chain.

  2. Ann Kennedy says:

    Probably a unicorn trap

  3. Love this abstract composition Marty.

  4. Maybe you were visiting the Van Ness family, and photographed Mayer Tree on location, as documented by the photojournalist Zip Line Kid?

  5. jose smoothtrax says:

They are turnbuckles. Used for tightening stays.

  6. OK, a guess. Isn’t there a steel hulled pirate ship in winter storage at Rose’s on Rogers Street? I believe the name of the marauding ship is FORMIDABLE. Very cool Marty!

  7. very well done
