Does the offloading of giant turbines from barges, pumping of herring, tying up of fishing boats, offloading cruiseships, loading of welding supplies for the LNG terminal in front of an outdoor dining facility put to rest the notion that marine industrial activity and non-marine industrial activity can’t co-exist?

American Glory Cruise Ship at Cruiseport

Here’s the cruise ship that pulled into port Tuesday. It looked kinda old by today’s cruise ship standards, but well maintained (at least from the outside).

I’m very proud of the diversity of activity in the harbor and the willingness of all groups to work together! Hats off to all involved!!!

Wouldn’t it be nice if Cruiseport’s Webcam were online!

    • What a great idee. No one fed the gerbils running the Cruiseport webcam?

But Fred, the Toodeloos Webcam is running and three bears have sat down for tea. There is room for one more. Why don’t you go down there at exactly 4PM (off your cell phone), sit down for tea and you can wave to all of us who are stuck in offices in Boston.

If you wear your pirate hat I might recognize you.

    Awesome set! :)

  4. YES. Totally. Gloucester should be proud of itself for signing on to using a wind turbine. It’s the way of the future.

  5. Jay Albert says:

Never a boring view while dining at the Seaport Grille!

    • Fredrik Bodin says:

Seaport is one of the restaurants I often recommend to visitors. It’s got the “chew” and the “view.” Passports is another that I also send folks to: Fantastic food and cozy Main Street ambiance. People actually come back to the gallery and thank me for suggesting Passports. Not once in my 16 years here have a heard a complaint.
