Johnny Pesky, who during a six-decade-long association with the Red Sox as player, manager, broadcaster, coach, and executive became one of the most popular figures in the team’s history, died Monday. He was 92.

  1. I loved that he wore his Red Sox uniform.. great guy and he will be missed

I remember one game at Fenway sitting down the right field line. Our seats looked out toward center field — not toward home plate — so I looked at the Pesky Pole for like three hours. One of the quirks that make Fenway unique and special.

I think Joey and Frankie should start naming stuff down the dock after people, just like the Pesky Pole. Donna’s Dock. The Collard Creamer. The Kim Smith Stairs. Joey’s Girly Sweetener. The xxx Outhouse?

  3. Bill Langer says:

So how come we see a shot of the left-field pole?
